Plans unveiled by the Accademia Gallery in Florence to extend the length of the penis of Michelangelo’s world famous statue David have been met by shock. The statue dating back to the Renaissance “needs some little enhancements to improve its appearances and ensure its place as an artistic masterpiece for the next hundred years” said Pierre Crayon museum director.
Expert sculptors from Brazil and Egypt have been assigned the methodical task of adding two inches of marble to the penis of the statue. It is hoped the work will give a modern touch to the Renaissance masterpiece and bring it more into line with modern day estimates and that it will continue to intrigue art lovers throughout the world. The additional work is hoped to attract more female visitors to the statue.
The museum is expecting protests against the move but is urging people to be open minded about the proposed move. It is only a small piece of maintenance to a Renaissance masterpiece.
