Negotiations are almost finalised between Sepp Blatter and NAMA on his remuneration package as the FIFA boss seems set to join the Irish “bad bank.”
The negotiations will continue despite the football boss being questioned by Swiss police today on further corruption allegations and illegal bribe payments. Blatter’s 17 year tenure has been blighted by continuous corruption allegations and shady dealings.
Such dealings have not deferred NAMA who have aggressively pursued the services of Mr. Blatter over the last two years. A spokesperson from NAMA described Mr. Blatter as “having an ideal skill set for NAMA. Mr. Blatter is a deal maker and that is what this organisation needs. We look for people that can arrange a deal, pull everything together and see it through. Sepp has this ability. His track record shows he can do what is needed to close off deals and in cases when required he has the ability to make bad news disappear. All qualities that are essential here. He is a perfect fit for NAMA.”
The spokesperson made no reference to the long record of corruption alleges against Mr. Blatter and FIFA over his tenure.
It is expected that a deal will be finalised over the weekend. Once complete it s thought that Mr. Blatter’s first assignment on behalf of NAMA will be in Belfast.
