Netflix have confirmed that they will soon begin filming an Irish version of their hit political drama House of Cards.
The series will be closely based on Irish politician Alan Kelly who sealed his return to the Dail earlier today. Alan Kelly will play himself as the power hungry and political scheming main character.
Bosses of Netflix believe the drama will be every bit as successful as the US version inspired by Kevin Spacey who plays the Machiavellian Frank Underwood on his brutal pursuit of the White House.
A spokesperson commented that Kelly was ideal for the role as he is a career politician who is on a journey to top political office and obviously has a visible thirst for power. However the Netflix spokesperson was unsure if the series would be a drama or documentary.
A delighted Alan Kelly when leaving the count centre in Tipperary wished not to comment on the Netflix offer but only added that “everything is about sex. Except sex. Sex is about power” before heading off with his delighted supporters.
